New technology company Innovations4Flooring challenges the flooring industry status quo with break-through installation solutions

  • Company announces game changing 3L TripleLock® and Click4U® patents
  • Unique drop lock installation technique for panels easy to install and eliminates need for additional insert on short side

Innovations4Flooring today announced two new patents, 3L TripleLock and Click4U, providing a unique drop lock installation technique for flooring panels that eliminates the need for an additional insert on the short side. This elimination provides manufacturers with the possibility to improve productivity levels as well as reduce their costs and carbon footprint. The 3L TripleLock patent has already been granted in Europe and the United States. Both patents have been filed globally.

3L TripleLock provides a drop-lock installation innovation while Click4U provides an angle system on the long side and a drop-lock on the short side. The solution is suitable for laminate, luxury vinyl tiles, wood plastic composite and wooden flooring panels.

Annually, the global market for flooring with locking systems is estimated to be more than 1.6 billion square meters.

Innovations4Flooring, created in 2013, comprises a highly experienced team of international industry professionals and receives strong investment from Dutch private equity group Ramphastos. Leading the company is John Rietveldt, who previously worked as global president for world market leader in hard flooring, Tarkett. Heading up R&D is Eddy Boucké, technical founder of Berry Floors. Eddy also previously worked as a consultant at Vålinge and Kronospan.

John Rietveldt, CEO of Innovations4Flooring said, “We believe the global flooring market is ready for change and our innovations will play a significant role in this huge industry transformation. The patent market has been reserved for just a handful of players for almost 20 years. With some important patents soon to expire, our drop-lock one piece offers the industry a faster, more cost-effective way to manufacture environmentally friendly solutions in a sustainable way. And in a highly competitive market, the easy introduction of a drop-lock solution on the short side means that end user product installation offerings are facilitated.”
